Researchers from the Department of Biochemistry participated in the Winter Biology Seminar at Petnica

Researchers from the Department of Biochemistry visited IS Petnica, where they gave a series of lectures on metabolism and metabolic diseases as part of the winter biology seminar held from February 3 to 6.

Dr. Bojana Mićić delivered an introductory lecture on metabolism and metabolic diseases, while Dr. Danijela Vojnović-Milutinović presented animal models of metabolic diseases that have been used in research at the Department of Biochemistry for many years. During the seminar, Dr. Nataša Veličković, coordinator of the current Twinning STRIMHealth project, presented the project and the latest results focused on fatty liver disease research. Miloš Vratarić and Dr. Ana Đorđević informed participants about the latest research at the Department of Biochemistry, primarily concerning the analysis of microbiota and its role in the prevention and treatment of metabolic diseases, including the probiotic LiverDophilus, developed at IBISS in cooperation with IMGGI and the pharmaceutical company Phytonet.

Thank you to all the collaborators in the biology program, especially Ana Graovac and Lenka Stević, for the invitation.
