STRIMHealth researchers participate in EASL Congress 2026

Dr. Nataša Veličković participated in the Congress of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL 2026), held in Barcelona, Spain, from 27 to 30 May 2026.

At congress, she presented STRIMHealth-related research results entitled “Integrated multi-omics analysis identifies gut microbiota–lipid–metabolite signatures associated with metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease in overweight adults”.

These results were presented both as a poster and in an oral presentation during the Poster Tour – “Gut microbiota and liver disease / liver-organ crosstalk” on Saturday, 30 May 2026.

Dr Veličković participated together with STRIMHealth team members from ORU and FFUL: Prof. Dr Matej Orešič, Prof. Dr Tuulia Hyötyläinen, and Dr Marta Afonso, which provided opportunities for further discussion of the STRIMHealth research results.

Participation in the congress was highly rewarding, as it enabled us to present our work to an international community of researchers and experts, engage in enriching discussions on MASLD, metabolism, and innovative healthcare approaches, and build connections that we believe will be instrumental in advancing our research in the coming years.

The congress also led to new collaborations, exchange of ideas, and exploration of possibilities for future EU-funded projects.
