ELIMINA2020 postponed for 2021

Due to the current status of the pandemic and the uncertainty of when it will be over, and of course, how long it will take to have efficient drugs and vaccine for COVID-19, organizers of ELMINA2020 have decided to postpone the conference for 2021.

Researchers from the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" - National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade are involved in operations of  laboratories of the Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Sera "Torlak", the newly established "Huo-Yan National Laboratory for Molecular Detection of Infectious Agents Belgrade" in the Clinical Center, the National Reference Laboratory in Batajnica, and the Department of Biocides and Medical Ecology in COVID-19 research, together with researchers from the University of Belgrade: the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, Faculty of Biology, the Institute for Medical Research - National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade, Vinča Institute of Nuclear Science - National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade, the School of Medicine, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and the Institute for Applied Nuclear Energy.

Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, organize the 2nd International Conference "Electron Microscopy of Nanostructures" ELMINA2020, which will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, September 14th - 18th, 2020.

A conference of the COST Action CA16112 NutRedOx “Nutraceuticals in Balancing Redox Status in Ageing and Age-Related Diseases” - WGs Meeting of the NutRedOx COST Action CA16112 Belgrade, March 2-3, 2020, was organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" (IBISS)- National Institute of Republic of Serbia, Institute for Application of Nuclear Energy (INEP) and Institute for Medical Research (IMI) - National institute of Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade.

Laboratory for Molecular Neuro-Oncology, Department of Neurobiology, Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" - National Institute of Republic of Serbia, was the Organizer of Annual Conference of COST Action of CA17104 STRATAGEM "New diagnostic and therapeutic tools against multidrug resistant tumors", held from February 27th- 28th, 2020 in Belgrade.

CoMBoS 2

The Serbian Society for Molecular Biology (MolBioS) organizes the Second International Congress of Molecular Biologists of Serbia (CoMBoS 2), which will be held October 1-3, 2020 at the Belgrade Youth Center.

A two-day kick-off meeting was held from 30-31.01.2020. at the Institute for Biological Research "Sinisa Stankovic", to mark the beginning of the project entitled: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Prevention of Multimorbidity in Post-Conflict Serbia, Project Number X/164294. The main objective of the project is to investigate the issue of multimorbidity in Serbia, as well as possible links with environmental pollution and socio-economic factors in Serbia.

New International Project

Institute for Biological Research ”Siniša Stanković” has signed a new international project entitled "A multidisciplinary approach to prevention of multimorbidity in post-conflict Serbia" led by Dr. Aleksandra Mladenovic Đorđević, Senior Research Associate at the IBISS Department of Neurobiology and Dr. Elizabeth Goyder with University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.

ERA.Net RUS+ THIOREDIN Belgrade Workshop

Members of the Department of Neurobiology were organizers of the ERA.Net RUS + THIOREDIN Belgrade Workshop, held at the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" 19-20 October 2019.

PhD student Marija Nešović, Research Assistant at the Department of Neurobiology at IBISS, was presented EACR (European Association for Cancer Research) Poster Prize 1st Place at the 4th Congress of the Serbian Association for Cancer Research "Bringing Science to Oncology Practice: Where is Serbia?" that was held on October 3-5th 2019 in Belgrade, Serbia.
