On the last Friday in September, under the slogan "In step with science", the 16th Researchers' Night was traditionally held. The European Researchers' Night is implemented in Serbia through two projects: ReFocus FLOW (Road to Friday of Science FLOWs) and TRAILS (TRAIN RESPONSIBLE AI LEARNING SOCIETY).
The projects are funded by the Horizon Europe program, the largest program of the European Union for research and innovation activities, under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie subprogram. The coordinator of the ReFocuS FLOW project (Road to Friday of Science FLOWs) is our Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković", University of Belgrade, in partnership with the Center for the Promotion of Science, the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Niš and the University of Kragujevac.
With over 100,000 visitors in 16 cities in Serbia, this year's Researchers' Night was a true scientific adventure in which 101 institutions and over 1,000 researchers participated. The official opening was held at the Europe House Belgrade, where the project coordinator, Dr. Jasmina Nestorović Živković, addressed the crowd. In Belgrade, in addition to the European House, researchers interacted with citizens in the Museum of Science and Technology, BIG Fashion Karaburma shopping mall, Center for the Promotion of Science, the Zoo, the Czech House and the Ethnographic Museum.
