The Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković” was one of the co-organisers of the BelBi 2026 Conference, held in Belgrade from 8-10 June.

IBISS researchers, Dr. Miodrag Dragoj from the Department of Neurobiology, Dr. Pavle Erić from the Department of Genetics of Populations and Ecogenotoxicology, and Ana Sarić from the Department of Molecular Biology, together with Mirjana Novković from the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, hosted the workshop “From R to RNA-seq: A Practical Bioinformatics Workshop for Beginners”.

During the two-day workshop, held at the Center for the Promotion of Science, students had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of working with the R programming language and RStudio, as well as gain insight into the RNA sequencing workflow, from sample preparation to the bioinformatic analysis of sequencing data.

We hope that all participants enjoyed the workshop, and that they will soon have the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge in their own research projects.
