As part of the planned activities within the STRIMHealth project, the team from IBISS (Dubravka Zailac, Milena Terzić and Zorica Janković from the Administrative and Legal Service, Nikola Jevtić from the Accounting and Financial Service, Dr. Nataša Veličković, STRIMHealth project leader, and Dr. Ivana Stojanović, coordinator of the Project Support Team) conducted a study visit to iMed ULisboa in Portugal from 14 to 18 October 2025.

Stanford University has updated its database of authors with standardized citation indicators and published the results for 2024. Once again this year, our researchers are included on the list: Dr. Marina Soković, Dr. Jasmina Glamočlija, and Dr. Marija Ivanov, associates of the Department of Plant Physiology, as well as Dr. Marko Prokić, associate of the Department of Physiology.

The Joint Danube Survey 5 (JDS5), the world’s most comprehensive investigative surface-water monitoring effort, will officially kick off on 1 July 2025 in Vienna. This large-scale scientific survey will bring together experts from 14 countries to assess the health of the Danube River and its major tributaries.

Researchers from the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" – National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade (IBISS) are currently concluding another successful short-term scientific mission within the STRIMHealth project. This time, the mission took place at the Research Institute for Medicines, University of Lisbon (iMed ULisboa), in the Cell Function and Therapeutic Targeting group led by Prof. Cecília Maria Pereira Rodrigues.

Тhe scientific conference EMBO|FEBS Lecture Course entitled "The evolving role of mitochondria in metabolism", will be held from 14 to 18 September 2025 at the Belgrade Youth Center. The organizers of the meeting are the CECAD Cluster of Excellence for Aging Research at the University of Cologne, Germany and the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" - National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade.

Science Fund Proof of Concept project, which resulted in the national patent application P-2025/0366, is completed successfully. The patent refers to innovative materials for the ecological protection of legumes and cereals from pest insects.

In addition to the patent, two publications are being prepared for publication in top international journals, which further confirms the scientific importance and potential of this team work.

Research was conducted with the support of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, PROJECT NUMBER 12929, Project name "Materials for controlled release of natural repellents produced in an environmentally friendly manner" - Acronym: NatuRep.

This international meeting under the auspices of European Federation of the Immunological Societies and Immunology Letters journal was dedicated to the standardization of innate lymphoid cells phenotyping and establishment of pan European collaboration between different research laboratories. Participants from Spain, Germany, Hungary, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Albania and Serbia met at the Institute for the Biological Research (IBISS) for the first time. The meeting was organized by IBISS immunologists led by Dr. Ivana Stojanović.

Colleagues from the Department of Biochemistry have been awarded the Hop-on facility project entitled "Widening the investigation of endocrine-disrupting chemicals as contributors to progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease" (widenEDC-MASLD) under the HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-06 call.
