Hop-on facility project received

Colleagues from the Department of Biochemistry have been awarded the Hop-on facility project entitled "Widening the investigation of endocrine-disrupting chemicals as contributors to progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease" (widenEDC-MASLD) under the HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-06 call.

The Goran Ljubijankić Foundation has presented awards for the best doctoral dissertations and master's theses in the field of molecular biology defended in 2024.

"The effect of fish oil treatment on cholesterol metabolism in mouse retina during physiological aging and in Alzheimer's disease model"

IBISS associates, Dr. Danijela Maksimović-Ivanić, Dr. Sanja Mijatović, Dr. Melita Vidaković, Dr. Ivana Stojanović and Dr. Tamara Saksida visited Wuhan in China and participated in the work of the Donghu Forum. In addition to participation of our coleagues, scientists from Japan, Cuba, Germany and South Africa were also present. Donghu Forum is an international forum dedicated to the integration of engineering into medicine and establishing cooperation that leads to innovative solutions in medicine. At the Donghu forum, Dr. Melita Vidaković presented the work of our institute in its entirety, then research in the field of biomedicine, as well as the work of her group.

Dr. Melita Vidaković and Dr. Ivana Stojanović were promoted to visiting professors at the Hubei University of Technology.

TargetedResponse Workshop Held

TargetedResponse project Workshop (Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia) was held on October 21, 2024, in the Ceremonial Hall at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. The workshop brought together researchers and clinicians to present updates in the field of functional diagnostics for lung cancer.

The workshop was opened by Prof. Nataša Milić, Vice Dean for Doctoral Studies at the Faculty of Medicine, and Ana Vitas, a representative of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, along with the project leader, Dr. Milica Pešić, who presented the main results of the project.

Key presentations included Dr. Stefan Hadžić on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and lung cancer, Dr. Davorin Radosavljević on advancements in lung cancer treatment, Dr. Joanna Kopecka on immune checkpoint inhibitors, Dr. Milena Čavić on liquid biopsies, and Dr. Robin Jansen on RAS-driven tumor therapies. The leaders of the TargetedResponse work packages—Dr. Jelena Dinić, Dr. Miodrag Dragoj, and Dr. Ana Podolski-Renić— also presented the latest results as the project approaches its conclusion.
