The first training on EU research funding and project management, organized as part of the STRIMHealth project, has been successfully completed. Held at IBISS on March 10th, Belgrade, the training covered key topics on funding opportunities and the grant preparation process.

On 04th February 2025, Dr. Milica Pešić, a representative of the IBISS KTT team in the BIO4 delegation, visited Pfizer's Center for Digital Innovation in Thessaloniki, where she learned how the centre works. During the visit, she gave a short presentation. She presented IBISS as an institution with broad biodiversity, biotechnology, and biomedicine expertise that is open to collaboration and has great innovation potential.
Colleagues from the Department of Biochemistry have been awarded the Hop-on facility project entitled "Widening the investigation of endocrine-disrupting chemicals as contributors to progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease" (widenEDC-MASLD) under the HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-06 call.
The Goran Ljubijankić Foundation has presented awards for the best doctoral dissertations and master's theses in the field of molecular biology defended in 2024.
The work of Ana Stepanović and colleagues was selected in the competition of the "Akademik Radoslav K. Anđus" Foundation for the best scientific publication by a young scientist in the field of physiology/biophysics for 2023/2024: Novel hybrid compounds of sclareol and doxorubicin as potential anticancer nanotherapy for glioblastoma, Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy 174, 2024, 116496.
The collaborative UTRL project entitled "Probiotic bacteria for the treatment of liver steatosis" aims to develop, validate and commercialise a probiotic product for the purification of fatty liver. The project will be implemented over the next 12 months through a synergistic collaboration between science and industry and involves the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" (IBISS), the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering (IMGGI) and the pharmaceutical company Phytonet.
Dr. Marko Mirč and Dr. Mirko Đorđević from the IBISS Department of Evolutionary Biology are the leaders of the new citizen science research projects granted by the Center for the Promotion of Science. At the project award ceremony, the CPN also presented IBISS with a certificate of appreciation for its exceptional contribution to the work of the Center.
