We are inviting you to join us at the “Menopausal transition in medical and neuroscience research” Symposium, organized by the Serbian Neuroscience Society and Serbian Early Career Endocrinologists and Scientists with IBISS support. The symposium will be held at the European House, Zmaj Jovina 8-10, Belgrade, Serbia, on February 26, 2026.

The international patent application of the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković”, "WO 2026/010517- BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE BEADS OF CELLULOSE ACETATE AND THYMOL, PROCESS FOR THEIR PRODUCTION, THEIR USE AND APPLICATION PROCESS", has been published on 08th January 2026.

A delegation from East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), led by Vice President Prof. Zhao Liming, visited the Institute for Biological Research „Siniša Stanković“ on 16 December 2025.

As part of the continuous activities of the China-Serbia "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory for Natural Products and Drug Discovery, a meeting was held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković", during which the work carried out by the Joint Laboratory to date was presented to the members of the Academic Committee.

The Director of the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković", Dr. Mirjana Mihailović, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Syneos Health for its donation of 10 laptops. In addition to director Ivan Micka, who received the Certificate of Appreciation, the event was attended by our former IBISS colleagues, now working at Syneos Health: Dr. Jasna Banković, Dr. Tijana Stanković, and Dr. Zorica Milošević.

In recent years, duckweed (Lemna minor L.) has shown significant potential for applications in nanotechnology and environmental technology, food technology, production of edible vaccines, and as a model organism for basic research.

The PaSTINCA Project Team (Parents and Scientists Together for Identifying Nutritional Challenges in Autism) is organising a professional workshop, "Understanding Nutrition - Understanding the Child", focused on addressing nutritional challenges in children on the autism spectrum. The event aims to foster collaboration between the education system, healthcare professionals, and families.

A team of researchers from IBISS, including Principal Research Fellows Dr. Danijela Maksimović-IvanićDr. Tamara SaksidaDr. Ana Đorđević, and Dr. Danijela Vojnović-Milutinović, visited the School of Life and Health Sciences at Hubei University of Technology in Wuhan, China, and participated in the Belt and Road International Forum on Biomedicine and Health Sciences, where current research at IBISS was presented.
